GLOBAL DATA SYNCHRONIZATION SOLUTIONS (GS1net & 1SYNC)

Based on global standards (GDSN), data pools such as GS1net and 1SYNC enables trading partners within the retail supply chain to synchronize their product information. Data pools also provide secure access to commercially sensitive information including pricing, promotion, trading terms, and the locations of products and services. To support companies participating in Global Data Synchronization (GDS), Innovit has developed a range of iICE Product Data Management (PDM) products that allow suppliers to easily prepare and publish their product information to data pools such as 1SYNC & GS1net. For retailers, iICE PDM products allow product data from data pools to be sourced, validated, and then synchronized with internal business systems. Advanced workflow capabilities are provided to enable business process integration:

  • Externally with suppliers.
  • Internally between merchandising and cataloging staff.

The Retail Industry is one of the most dynamic and diverse of all trading environments around the world. Suppliers and retailers are constantly reviewing their categories and product range, making the task of maintaining product data extremely resource intensive. The Distribution Industry, being one of the most price-competitive sectors, has seen a relatively slower adoption of electronic trading.  Because distributors conduct business almost exclusively on a B2B basis with their suppliers and customers, the exchange of product catalogs can be a daunting process.

Increasing pressure is being placed upon manufacturing suppliers to introduce new and innovative products to their retail partners to meet changing consumer demands.
