Objectives and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Instructional Designer within the Design Team, your primary role is to create course material such as manuals, tutorials, FAQs and interactive content to train and educate our user base and internal stakeholders. Working along side our BAs and product managers you will develop a deep understanding of business requirements and internal processes and develop training plans and supporting materials to maintain a high level of subject matter expertise within our organisation and customer groups. You will also track your time and report your progress/risks/issues weekly, or at the completion of objectives.
You will work with the Head of Design to:
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer to our new product releases
- Work with subject matter experts to identify the target audience’s training needs
- Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them
- Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
- Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games, etc)
- Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course
- Maintain project documentation and course folders
KEY OBJECTIVES:
You will be expected to:
- Develop an understanding of Innovit’s existing products to address the above markets and the different types of users and roles using them
- Develop solid domain expertise in these disciplines:
- Master Data Management (MDM) or Product Information Management (PIM)
- GDSN and/or Unique Device Identifier (UDI)
Skills and Cultural Requirements
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS:
You must have the following technical capabilities:
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Basic HTML and CSS programming knowledge
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
- Effectively able to translate business requirements into a technical solution
- Effectively able to translate business requirements into a technical solution
- Excellent written & oral communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to self-manage and meet multiple deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience
- Detail oriented
- Critical thinker, Problem solver and customer-centered mindset
- Knowledge of the latest best practises and platforms for delivery of lessons and knowledge transfer content
PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES:
You must have these professional traits:
- Capable of working independently after sufficient product/application training
- A quick learner with the ability to acquire new domain knowledge, self-guided learning capability
- Comfortable reading through business requirement documents, functional specifications, technical specifications, and attending online briefing sessions with stakeholders
- Not afraid to ask questions or seek assistance
- Willing to challenge design decisions
- Natural willingness to share information among team members
- Willingness to accommodate overseas time zones depending on project geographies (e.g., US, EU and/or Australia)
DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Experience with building interactive learning solutions
- Experience with building lesson plans and training syllabus
- knowledge of lesson content platforms
Experience
ESSENTIAL:
- 5 years+ of experience as an Instructional Designer or training facilitator
HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
- Proven history of working with client’s end-users and technical users
- Working within demanding timelines on multiple tasks/tickets simultaneously
- Experience working with clients in Life Sciences and Healthcare industry is highly interesting
Education
HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
- MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar relevant field
