Position Overview


We are looking for a Motion Designer/UI Animator to join our team!
As a Motion Designer, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of the best online experience across our products and marketing, which makes your role extremely important for our success and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

You will be designing ideas using various methods and latest technology. Contributing to our user interface elements for enterprise level software and unifying motion graphics across marketing and product.

Objectives and Responsibilities


As a UI Animator within the Design Team, your primary role is to create-and-iterate on product animation for UI, Menus and all GUI elements, sometimes including some marketing related character & VFX animation. You will ensure your pre-vis UI animations - as well as your final-quality UI assets - meet the needs of the Product and design direction and that the assets are technically prepared for implementation into our software. You will also track your time and report your progress/risks/issues weekly, or at the completion of objectives.

You will work with the Head of Design to:

  • Produce the UI animations and motion graphics assets that help the Head of Design and Product Director realise their vision
  • Provide pre-viz UI animations and build to final production quality animations
  • Work closely with the UX, design and UI artists to create and refine the look and feel of the user interface
  • Be creatively flexible, adapting styles as necessary, typically during the exploratory stages of pre-production and when moving between projects
  • Maintain an open dialogue with technical artists to ensure all animations retain app performance requirements
  • Create, and quality assure that production assets and animations adhere to technical briefs. You will track your time and report your progress/risks/ issues daily, or at the point of identification


You will be expected to:

  • Develop an understanding of Innovit’s existing products to address the above markets and the different types of users and roles using them
  • Develop solid domain expertise in these disciplines:
  • Master Data Management (MDM) or Product Information Management (PIM)
  • GDSN and/or Unique Device Identifier (UDI)

Skills and Cultural Requirements


You must have the following technical capabilities:

  • A strong portfolio/show reel showing your UI pre-viz animations to final UI animations with bonus points awarded for VFX/character examples
  • Excellent knowledge of the Adobe Suite as well as experience using 3D animation platforms such as Maya, Cinema4D or Blender
  • An exceptional eye for detail and quality, and a willingness to learn new tools and techniques
  • Effectively able to translate business requirements into a technical solution

  • Excellent written & oral communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to self-manage and meet multiple deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience
  • Ability to discuss and explain design rationale

  • Critical thinker, Problem solver and customer-centered mindset
  • Knowledge of Human Centred Design and latest best practises


You must have these professional traits:

  • Capable of working independently after sufficient product/application training
  • A quick learner with the ability to acquire new domain knowledge, self-guided learning capability
  • Comfortable reading through business requirement documents, functional specifications, technical specifications, and attending online briefing sessions with stakeholders
  • Not afraid to ask questions or seek assistance
  • Willing to challenge design decisions
  • Natural willingness to share information among team members
  • Willingness to accommodate overseas time zones depending on project geographies (e.g., US, EU and/or Australia)

  • Have at least 2-3 years of commercial experience comprising:
  • 2 years of experience as a Motion Designer or similar role


  • Proven history of working with client’s end-users and technical users
  • Working within demanding timelines on multiple tasks/tickets simultaneously
  • Experience working with clients in Life Sciences and Healthcare industry is highly interesting



  • A bachelor’s degree in Design – UX interaction design or Business Information Technology – User Experience Design (or similar) from a reputable tertiary academic institution.
