Position Overview

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team, who can ensure that products and services meet specified quality standards.

As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining a process framework across the business.

Objectives and Key Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: You will work with the engineers to:

  • Identify weaknesses and elicit improvements to bring process efficiency.
  • Provide insights on Quality KPI/OKRs and align them with project goals.
  • Ensure that software development processes comply with industrial standards, best practices and internal policies.
  • Implement and enforce standardized documentation and templates to maintain consistency across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain support documentation
  • Conduct audit and raise non-compliance incidents.
  • Engage relevant stakeholders for root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Monitor and control process engineering and improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with management to resolve issues.

KEY OBJECTIVES: You will be expected to maintain the software development and testing processes and ensure adherence to producing high-quality software and user content products.

Skills and Cultural Requirements

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS: You must have the following technical capabilities:

  • Knowledge of statistical methods and tools for analysing measurement data.
  • Knowledge of any process frameworks, e.g. CMMI, ISO, SPICE, etc.
  • Knowledge about methods to perform root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Ability to draw flow charts using tools like Visio, Edraw, etc.
  • Knowledge about SDLC and Knowledge about test methodologies, both manual and automation.
  • Ability to effectively solve analytical problems.
  • Ability to articulate clearly & concisely, problem statements, cause-effect relationships and analytical results in audio-visual and written formats.

PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES: You must have these professional traits:

  • Capable of working independently after sufficient process/product/application training.
  • A quick learner with the ability to acquire new domain knowledge with self-guided learning capability.
  • Not afraid to ask questions or seek assistance.
  • Natural willingness to share information among team members.
  • Willingness to accommodate overseas time zones depending on project geographies (e.g., US, EU, AU)
  • High level of attention to technical details about product functionality, user experience and documentation.

Experience

ESSENTIAL:

  • 5+ years hands-on experience in implementing process frameworks.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

  • Experience with Six Sigma Methodologies
  • Experience with Control Charts
  • Experience and knowledge with Agile development practices.
  • Experience using Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Zephyr).

Education

ESSENTIAL:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Post-graduate certification in Quality Assurance Management.
